"[Canadian Game Companies" is the most useful Canadian gaming industry search tool that I have found.
Thanks again. "
Brief: Canadian Game Companies was launched in December 2002 to provide a valuable and comprehensive resource on the Canadian game industry for game developers, game industry participants, and game students. This list quickly managed to gain the top spot in Google categories like 'game, industry, Canada' and 'Canadian, game, companies'. Canadian Game Companies currently attracts over 10,000 visitors each month.
History: It all started with a little bit of game industry job research, in April of 2002, when I... read more

How to Search: Canadian Game Companies now includes a search function hosted by Atomz Search. Thanks to Atomz Search for this free and powerful search engine, and thanks to www.igda.org for their Colophon page which provided a valuable reference to this search engine.
Now I recommend a dual approach. For instance, let's say you were searching for game software companies in Toronto. You can use the search function below to search for 'toronto'. You get 16 results. Of those results, click on the link for 'Canadian Software Companies' (it's second on the search results). Now, you are sent to 'Canadian Software Companies' page. You can either scroll down the page to search for those companies located in Toronto, or you can press 'Ctrl-F', type in 'Toronto' (or any other desired search word), and the browser will highlight, and skip to, each instance of 'Toronto' in the document in turn. This will work for any desired search term, as long as it is present in the document.

It all started with a little bit of game industry job research, in April of 2002, when I put together a hit list of game companies in Canada. In the spirit of sharing our natural resoures, I posted the list in an IGDA thread .
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that even the mighty Gamasutra falls far short of representing the full gamut of game companies in Canada. Soon I realized I had the longest list of Canadian Game Companies available on the Internet. Canada is the best country in the world for computer and video game development. Rock on, Canada!
You are free to link to this list. If you wish to reproduce this list on your website, please contact me first. Dan Mullins did this, and now he has Canadian Game Companies up on Classic Gaming Collectors of Canada . You too can be a proud partner of Canadian Game Companies.
In September 2003, I completed a certificate in Game Art and Design at the Art Institute of Vancouver-Burnaby . You're looking at version 2 of this big list.
